POUND HITS FOUR AND HALF MONT HIGH AGAINST DOLLAR, GBPINR TOPS 106.70 MARK

The British Pound maintained its gains against the US dollar and broke above 1.2800 mark convincingly today. The overall mood remains stable in the currency markets amid year end trades and the GBPUSD pair has now hit highest mark in four and half months. Meanwhile, the UK will be Europe�s best-performing major economy in the next 15 years, narrowing the gap with Germany and extending its lead over France, according to a latest update. The Centre for Economics and Business Research has predicted that GDP growth in the UK will settle between 1.6% and 1.8% in the period up until 2038, making it retain its position as the world�s sixth-largest economy. GBPUSD currently holds at 1.2813, up 0.10% on the day. The pair has added nearly 1.50% this month. On the NSE, the GBPINR futures are quoting at 106.57, up 0.43% on the day after hitting a high of 106.72 in intraday moves.
