US DOLLAR INDEX SEES LISTLESS MOVES, HOVERS AROUND ONE WEEK LOW

The US dollar index stayed in a choppy range today as the yesterday`s inflation reading failed to have a material impact on the counter. The US Inflation saw its biggest monthly increase this year in August. The consumer price index, which measures costs across a broad variety of goods and services, rose 0.6% for the month, and was up 3.7% from a year ago. However, excluding volatile food and energy, core CPI increased 0.3% and 4.3% respectively. The dollar index quotes around one week low of 104.35, almost unchanged on the day as market is waiting for the European Central Bank monetary policy announcement. The US 10 year bond yields have eased from a three week low and are capping the upside for the DXY.
