Holiday Calendar Of the Commodity Markets
A commodity market is a financial market where various commodities are listed and traded. You can trade in commodities through Derivative products. Primarily there are four broad categories of commodities you can trade in – energy, metal, livestock and meat, and agriculture. Given the demand and supply of these commodities their price change rapidly, by trading in them you get a chance to benefit from the price swings. Commodity trading also helps you create a diversified portfolio and hedge against inflation and geopolitical risks.
There are two major commodity markets in India – Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX). Read to know more about these markets and obtain a detailed list of commodity market holidays.
About MCX
MCX was established in 2003 and has grown tremendously popular over the years. It is headquartered in Mumbai. Currently, the exchange processes approximately 60% of all commodity future trades in India. It offers a wide range of commodities for trading – agriculture products, metals, energy, currency, and soft commodities. You can easily trade in the exchange through your Trading Account.
About NCDEX
NCDEX was also established in 2003 and is headquartered in Mumbai. It is a pioneer of agriculture commodities trading in India. The exchange provides investors with incredible trading opportunities, assists in price discovery, and contributes to India’s growing agricultural sector. It closely controls 75- 80% of total agricultural trading in India. You can access and trade in the exchange via your Trading Account.
