Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India (HMSI)
HMSI has officially launched its first electric scooters in India, the Activa E and QC1, marking a significant entry into the growing electric vehicle market.
Set to go on sale in February 2025, with bookings opening on January 1, 2025, these scooters will initially be available in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai.
The Activa E features 2 swappable batteries with a capacity of 1.5 kWh each, providing a range of 102 km and a peak power output of 6 kW, while the QC1, equipped with a fixed battery (1.5 KWH), offers a range of 80 km and a maximum output of 1.8 kW.
Both models come with modern features such as LED lighting, digital displays, and multiple riding modes to cater to diverse urban commuting needs. Honda aims to establish battery-swapping stations in key cities to facilitate easy battery exchanges for users, aligning with its global strategy to enhance sustainability and reduce carbon footprints by 2050.
The company is yet to release the pricing of these new offerings
