NTPC REGISTERS GOOD GROWTH IN ELECTRICITY GENERATION IN EXIT QUARTER

State-run power giant NTPC said it has logged 15.1% growth in power generation at 203.5 billion units (BU) during April-September 2022, from 176.8 BU generated in April to September 2021. Total electricity generation in July-September quarter was at 99.1 BU vs. 91.3 BU in the same quarter last year, an increase of 7.9%. Overall PLF of NTPC coal stations was at 76.3% in the period. Total installed capacity of NTPC is 70,234 MW.

With total installed capacity of NTPC at 70,234 MW and PLF of NTPC coal stations at 76.3% is reflecting high levels of perational excellence. This performance is on expected lines as electricity demand is increasing due to strong demand from household and industrial consumers. Going forward, as one of India’s electricity producer NTPC is expected to perform better on the back of a diversified portfolio and increase in demand for electricity.
