TATA MOTORS BAGS ORDER FOR ELECTRIC BUSES WITHIN OVERALL AMBIT OF CESL TENDER WIN
TATAMOTORS - 805 Change: -14.30 (-1.74 %)News: In a press release Tata Motors said it had won an order for 921 E-Bus from Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation. The company would be responsible for supply, operation and maintenance of 921 low-floor 12-metre electric buses for 12 years, as per the contract.
View: This order came in as part of a larger tender floated by CESL of 5,500 buses won by Tata Motors and would be the third order win by the company in this regard. The company had already received orders of 1,500 e-buses from Delhi Transport Corporation and 1,180 e-buses from West Bengal Transport Corporation previously with cumulative order for more than 3,600 buses. Tata Motors is emerging as a leader in this segment and had communicated about decent profitability in this business proposition given its experience in operating such electric buses.
Impact: Positive.
