Apart from ‘Havells’, HIL’s other major brands include Crabtree, Standard, Reo and Lloyd.

Q3FY23 Results

    Strong revenue growth; sequential improvement in margins.

    • Revenue up ~13% YoY to ₹ 4119.7 crore majorly led by ~30% revenue growth in Lloyd and ~17% revenue growth in cables segment.
    • Gross margin increased by 72 bps YoY (+ 212 bps QoQ) to 33% supported by lower raw material cost and subsiding inventory losses. EBITDA margin witnessed sequential recovery by 246 bps (down 177 bps YoY) to 10.3%
    • PAT increased by ~52% QoQ to ~₹ 283.9 crore (down ~7% YoY), tracking EBITDA margin recovery

- The company's profit after tax (PAT) for Q2FY24 was Rs 249 crore, reflecting a growth of 33% YoY.

2. Half-Yearly Financial Performance:
- For H1FY24, Havells India reported a net revenue of Rs 8,715 crore, a growth of 33% YoY.
- EBITDA during this period was Rs 810 crore, reflecting a growth of 24% YoY.
- The PAT for the half-year stood at Rs 718 crore, registering a growth of 25% YoY.

3. Segment-wise Analysis:
- The switchgear segment witnessed growth driven by infrastructure and construction.
- Power cable sales were boosted by infrastructure projects, outperforming flexible cable sales.
- The consumer lighting segment experienced deflationary pressure on LED prices, impacting revenues.
- Electrical consumer durables faced muted demand due to softness in consumer sentiment and a shift in festival demand.
- Lloyd Consumer maintained growth momentum across its product portfolio.

4. Balance Sheet:
- The total non-current assets at the end of Q2FY24 amounted to Rs 4,321 crore.
- Havells India had a strong liquidity position with cash and cash equivalents of Rs 2,468 crore.
- The company's investments in manufacturing continued with a capex primarily focused on cable, lighting, and Lloyd capacities.

5. Cash Flow:
- The operating net cash flow during H1FY24 was Rs 810 crore.
- Net cash flow from investing activities was negative at Rs 205 crore due to capital expenditure.
- Net cash flow from financing activities amounted to Rs 310 crore, primarily reflecting additional borrowings.

Description
  • Havells India Ltd. is an Indian fast-moving electrical goods company and a major power distribution equipment manufacturer. It was incorporated in 1958 with its headquarters in Noida. For the quarter ended June 2022, the company reported a total income of Rs 4,292.05 crore, down 3.99% from Rs 4,470.37 crore in the previous quarter ended March 2022. The company’s market capitalisation on 19 August 2022 stood at Rs 84,578 crore.  

    Havells India Ltd. is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange with the code 517354 and on the National Stock Exchange with the code HAVELLS.  

    The company owns some leading brands, such as Havells, Lloyd, Standard, and Crabtree. Its wide product range includes cables and wires, fans, motors, home appliances, industrial and domestic circuit protection devices, electric water heaters, air conditioners, power capacitors, and luminaires for commercial, domestic, and industrial applications.  

    During FY 2021-2022, the company recorded a total revenue of Rs 14,098.92 crore, up 32.45% from the total revenue of Rs 10,644.66 crore in FY 2020-2021. The company’s annual revenue growth of 32.45% outperformed its three-year CAGR of 11.27%. The total profit after tax was Rs 1,196.47 crore, up 14.57% from the previous financial year, 2020-2021.  

    On 30 June 2022, the company’s shareholding pattern indicated a 59.45% promoter stake, a 23.1% foreign institutional investor stake, a 9.06% domestic institutional investor stake, and an 8.35% public stake. QRG Enterprises Ltd. is the leading promoter with a 30.3% share.   

    The company’s top management includes Mr Anil Rai Gupta, Mr Surjit Kumar Gupta, Mr Ameet Kumar Gupta, Mr Puneet Bhatia, Mr Jalaj Ashwin Dani, Mr Upendra Kumar Sinha, Mr Ashish Bharat Ram, Ms Namrata Kaul, Mr Vivek Mehra, Mr Rajesh Kumar Gupta, and Mr T V Mohandas Pai.
