Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. is a company that is part of India's leading infrastructure conglomerate, Jaypee Group. It is engaged in the power generation business. It produces thermal and hydropower in addition to cement grinding and captive coal mining. As of 25th March 2022, it has a total market capitalisation of Rs. 4.76 trillion crores. On 21st December 1994, the Company was incorporated as Jaiprakash Hydro Power Ltd. (JHPL). Eventually, following the Scheme of Amalgamation issued by the High Court of Himachal Pradesh, erstwhile Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. was amalgamated into JHPL. After the merger, JHPL's name was changed to Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. from 23rd December 2009.

Today, Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd. owns and operates 400 MW Jaypee Vishnuprayag Hydro Electric Plant at District Chamoli, Uttarakhand, 1320 MW Jaypee Nigrie Super Thermal Power Plant at Nigrie, Distt. Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, 500 MW Jaypee Bina Thermal Power Plant at Village. Sirchopi, Distt. Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. It also operates the Cement Grinding Unit (2 MTPA) at Nigrie, Distt. Singrauli Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, it is involved in captive coal mining operations at the government-alloted Amelia Coal Block for the supply of Coal to Jaypee Nigrie Super Thermal Power Plant. Through its subsidiary Jaypee Powergrid Ltd., the Company has set up a power transmission line that is 219.80 km long to evacuate power from 1091 MW Karcham Wangtoo Hydroelectric Plant up to Abdullapur, Haryana, it's a subsidiary company, up to 25th March 2021.

The total revenue of Jaiprakash Power Ventures for the quarter ended 31st December 2021 was Rs. 1,453 crores, compared with Rs. 994 crores in the same period in the previous year. A total profit of Rs. 107 crore was achieved as compared with a loss of Rs. 8.6 crore during the same period last year. Jaiprakash Power share's EPS for the quarter ended 31st December 2021 was Rs. 0.099. Jaiprakash Power Ventures' share price 52-week high was at Rs. 11.22 while the Company's 52-week low was recorded at Rs. 2.80. The Company's price to earnings ratio was 16.89 as of 25th March 2022.
