GOLD HOLDS AROUND $3000 MARK AFTER HITTING RECORD HIGH

COMEX Gold futures are consolidating just under $3000 per ounce after hitting a fresh record high last in last session. The benchmark COMEX Gold futures spiked around 3% last week and are up for two consecutive weeks now. Gold soared in tune with weak US dollar index and ideas that the sustained worries over global trade front may keep the near term sentiments for the metal. Gold is up around 14% this year. Uncertainty over Russia-Ukraine ceasefire are also keeping the metal supported. The commodity is currently trading down 0.22% at $2994 per ounce. MCX Gold futures are also down 0.19% at Rs 87828 per 10 grams.
