Indices trade with minor gains, realty stocks rally

The benchmark indices traded with small gains in morning trade. The Nifty traded above the 19,800 level. Realty shares advanced after declining in the past trading session.

At 10:29 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, was up 65.64 points or 0.10% to 66,088.88. The Nifty 50 index added 18.95 points or 0.10% to 19,830.80.

In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.21% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index gained 0.55%.

The market breadth was strong. On the BSE, 2,168 shares rose and 1,161 shares fell. A total of 175 shares were unchanged.

Buzzing Index:

The Nifty Realty index gained 1.13% to 701.80. The index declined 0.69% in the past trading session.

Prestige Estates Projects (up 2.65%), Oberoi Realty (up 1.65%), Macrotech Developers (up 1.62%), Swan Energy (up 1.35%), Sobha (up 1.31%), Brigade Enterprises (up 0.96%), DLF (up 0.7%), Phoenix Mills (up 0.44%), Mahindra Lifespace Developers (up 0.27%) and Godrej Properties (up 0.15%) advanced.

Stocks in Spotlight:

UPL added 0.64%. The company has announced the formation of a new step-down subsidiary called Advanta Seeds, effective November 21, 2023. The company is set to engage in seeds and related business activities in Southern Africa following the infusion of share capital.

Welspun Corp rose 0.93%. The firm said that its wholly owned subsidiary, Sintex BAPL has got Odisha Government�s nod for its proposal to invest Rs 479.47 crore for establishing a manufacturing unit for CPVC, UPVC, SWR, Agri Pipes, PVC fittings and Plastic tanks with annual capacity of 37,520 MT in Sambalpur, Odisha.

Shalby gained 1.37% after the company has executed the Amendment Agreement to the Operation and Management Agreement with The Santacruz Residents Association and Bhikhubai Chandulal Jalundwala General Hospital (BCJ) to enable the company for execution of the project (construction of New hospital building) at Santacruz, Mumbai. The company will construct 175 beded new hospital at Santacruz, Mumbai.
