Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index declines 1.69%

Nifty Energy index ended down 1.69% at 36398.8 today. The index is up 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, NTPC Ltd slipped 2.80%, Reliance Industries Ltd shed 2.79% and Coal India Ltd fell 2.48%. The Nifty Energy index is up 55.00% over last one year compared to the 21.95% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Infrastructure index is down 1.25% and Nifty FMCG index has dropped 1.02% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.99% to close at 21522.1 while the SENSEX is down 1.11% to close at 71139.9 today.
