Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index records a surge of 1.30%

Nifty Energy index ended up 1.30% at 34776.7 today. The index has added 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Power Company Ltd jumped 3.13%, Reliance Industries Ltd rose 2.63% and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd added 2.07%. The Nifty Energy index has increased 34.00% over last one year compared to the 20.96% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index increased 1.06% and Nifty Commodities index increased 0.87% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.13% to close at 21647.2 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.09% to close at 71721.18 today.
