Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index registers a drop of 5.11%, NIFTY Crashes 1.41%

Nifty Media index closed down 5.11% at 2322.35 today. The index has added 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Dish TV India Ltd fell 10.05%, Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd dropped 8.62% and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd slipped 7.27%. The Nifty Media index has increased 12.00% over last one year compared to the 15.04% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index has slid 4.04% and Nifty Metal index has dropped 3.82% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 1.41% to close at 21150.15 while the SENSEX has declined 1.30% to close at 70506.31 today.
