Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 2.07%

Nifty Metal index ended down 2.07% at 7737.85 today. The index is down 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindalco Industries Ltd slipped 12.42%, Hindustan Copper Ltd added 4.09% and Steel Authority of India Ltd dropped 3.99%. The Nifty Metal index is up 36.00% over last one year compared to the 22.35% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index added 1.48% and Nifty Bank index added 1.38% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.59% to close at 21743.25 while the SENSEX added 0.68% to close at 71555.19 today.
