Quick Wrap: Nifty Private Bank Index registers a drop of 2.59%

Nifty Private Bank index closed down 2.59% at 22684.45 today. The index has lost 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd fell 3.51%, ICICI Bank Ltd slipped 3.21% and Axis Bank Ltd shed 3.11%. The Nifty Private Bank index has increased 7.00% over last one year compared to the 21.52% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index has slid 2.06% and Nifty PSU Bank index increased 2.00% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.97% to close at 21717.95 while the SENSEX has declined 1.00% to close at 71428.43 today.
