Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index gains 1.86%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 1.86% at 6055.4 today. The index has gained 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Punjab & Sind Bank added 4.37%, Union Bank of India gained 4.34% and Indian Bank rose 3.76%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has soared 43.00% over last one year compared to the 19.13% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index has dropped 1.17% and Nifty PSE index added 1.05% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.23% to close at 21571.8 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.36% to close at 71423.65 today.
